Thanks to everyone who has checked out the responses to the #threequestionsEDU series so far. If you’d like to respond to the questions, please read this post first. Kicking off this #threequestionsEDU response is the inimitable Mary Myatt. Thank you Mary!

A bit about yourself:

I talk to pupils, teachers and leaders about learning, leadership and the curriculum

What do you think are the biggest issues facing education right now?

Getting to grips with assessment – in particular the role that verbal feedback plays without needing complex recording.

What’s your favourite teaching and learning idea/technique/strategy/tool?

Think, pair, share. It does what it says on the tin. Most importantly it creates the space for thinking time.

If you were appointed Minister of Education in your country, what would be the first thing you’d change and why?

Do some proper work on pupil voice – not popularity contests, but deep conversations about their learning.

My thanks to Mary for taking the time to respond to the questions. I hope you find it of interest and look forward to reading your comments!
